Redlands, CA Commercial HVAC Chiller Installation & Repair

Redlands, CA Commercial HVAC Chiller Installation & Repair

During the heart of summer, it’s important to keep employees and customers cool and comfortable in commercial settings. When temperatures climb toward 90 degrees or higher, it’s imperative that commercial buildings such as schools, retail stores, and manufacturing facilities have a properly functioning cooling system.

One of the best ways to keep a large facility cool during the warmer months is through the installation of a high-quality commercial chiller. Chillers can replace a typical air conditioning system and are ideal for large commercial buildings, as they can provide a tremendous amount of cooling power and can protect expensive equipment and machinery.

At Sanborn’s Air Conditioning & Heating, our indoor air quality, heating, and cooling professionals know commercial chillers inside and out. Whether you need a new chiller installed, an old one replaced, or your Redlands business needs chiller maintenance or repair services, we can help. For installations and repairs, call Sanborn’s today.

What is a Commercial Chiller?

Commercial chillers are commonly found on the roofs or in the basements of large commercial settings and are tasked with generating the effects of cool air for the facility. A lot of heat is produced in commercial facilities, whether it’s from people, machinery, equipment, lighting, or the sun. Chillers transfer heat away from these spaces to cool the air.

The two most common types are water-cooled and air-cooled chillers. Both of these units use refrigeration to cool fluids and dehumidify the air. Water-cooled and air-cooled chillers are very similar and contain much of the same equipment, including a condenser, compressor, expansion valve, and evaporator.

The main difference between the two types of chillers is how they cool condenser coils to eliminate heat – one uses air and the other uses water. Water chillers are typically placed inside a facility, while air-cooled chillers are placed outside.

How is a Chiller Different from AC Systems?

A commercial water chiller unit takes hot water, cools it down, and circulates the “chilled” water throughout the facility for cooling. The cooled water also passes through fan coils to allow for dehumidification, as well.

Air conditioning units, meanwhile, cool hot air throughout an area by removing the heat, and distributing it across a building. Air conditioners can also provide dehumidification to facilities.

Air conditioners are typically found in homes or small businesses. A chiller in a larger facility can be used to cool down equipment and machinery in industrial-type buildings.

Benefits of Commercial Chiller Services

Let’s discuss more in detail some of the benefits of having a commercial chiller system installed.

Environmentally friendly

Chillers are extremely environmentally friendly because they use less energy while still providing the same level of cooling as other cooling systems do. If your commercial chiller is aging, consider upgrading to a new, more energy-efficient model for even more energy reduction.

Lower operating costs

Because commercial chillers use less energy than other commercial HVAC units and are more energy efficient, your Redlands, Inland Empire, or San Bernardino business can save hundreds of dollars per year on energy costs. With a commercial chiller, you can keep all of your employees comfortable throughout the day, while saving the company valuable money.

Ideal for large spaces

Commercial chillers are ideal for larger spaces with a lot of foot traffic and equipment and machinery which may be in constant operation.

Protection for equipment

One of the biggest benefits of commercial chillers is the protection they provide to your equipment. Chillers prevent expensive equipment from overheating, which can cause a significant financial burden if you were to have to replace a piece of equipment unexpectedly.
