Call Sanborn’s for Your Commercial HVAC Needs

There are key differences between commercial and residential HVAC systems. The differences can usually be broken down into some broad categories:
Location:
Many commercial systems are installed on the roof because they are much larger than residential heating and cooling units. It also allows technicians to work on the systems without interfering with activities inside the building.
Packaged vs Split:
In a home, the system functions are split between inside units (blowers, fans, etc.) and an outside compressor. Commercial systems are often one package, built together, inside a single cabinet.
Modular vs Standalone:
Many commercial systems are modular, meaning you can add or remove heating and cooling capacity as the building’s requirements change. Residential systems are standalone and can only be replaced as an entire unit.
Complexity:
Not surprisingly, many commercial HVAC systems are much more complex because they heat and cool a much larger area.
